Travel Updates 1.3.19

Good evening everyone!  I hope the holiday season treated you well, and 2019 is off to a great start.  I'm really excited to get the group going for their trip to Germany.  Here is some helpful information.
Communication
I will communicate via email, GroupMe and our Blog, which is http://www.yorktwinning.com/blog
I prefer most communication be with the Student Ambassadors.  We are sending them on a trip to Germany as an Ambassador for York Twinning Association, and it's imperative they take the lead now in preparation for their trips.  I do know the nature of teenagers, so I did add all parents to my email and GroupMe groups :-)

If you do not receive this exact communication via Group Me and/or email, please reach out to me privately to be set up.  Remember, I am sending group emails and messages, and there may not be a need to reply all (which is automatic in the group messaging).

Meetings

Travel meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of every month per the schedule below:

January 15th - Country Meadows, in the Chapel.  
February 19th - Country Meadows, in the Chapel
March 19th - Escape Games (more information to follow)
April 16th - Country Meadows, in the Chapel
May 21st - Laser Alleys (more information to follow)
June 24th - Details to follow

Club Meetings are the 4th Tuesday of Odd numbered months
January 22nd
March 26th
May 28

We encourage all travelers and their families to attend the general meetings.  Travel meetings are mandatory.  If a Student Ambassador is unable to attend, please contact me so we can make arrangements for a parent/representative to attend on their behalf

Payments
A nonrefundable deposit of $250 is due at the January meeting, and the remaining costs can be split over the next 3 months.  You are welcome to pay more than the minimum each month, but no less than 1/3 of the balance due in February, March, and April.  Checks can be made out to York Twinning Association

Membership
All travelers are required to be members of York Twinning Association, and if under 18, are required to join with a parent.  The cost of membership for 2019 is $20.  Please be prepared to pay the membership fee at the January meeting.  Please bring a separate check made out to York Twinning Association for the Membership Fee (do not include it in the trip cost check)

Fundraising
The students who traveled in 2018 did fundraising to cover the costs of the German students that this group hosted.  It is now this group's turn to fund raise for the students who will be coming in 2019.  We will require $300 per student of fundraising.  This can be done by

1.  Car wash cards
2.  Sub sales - there will be a sub sale campaign starting at each meeting, and further information will be provided at the first meeting.  
3.  Buy out
4.  Other options discussed at the 1st meeting
